“Nwobodo joined APC as a fugitive running from justice” – APC South-East Caucus

The South-East All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, described ex-governor of old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo’s entry into the party as a grand plan to shield himself from the long arm of the law, following his alleged involvement in the $2.1 billion arms deals undergoing probe by the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.

The ex-governor was reportedly mentioned as one of the beneficiaries of the arms deal to the tune of N600 million meant for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaigns and mobilization in the South-East geopolitical zone in the days leading to last general election.

APC’s Timipre Sylva to challenge result of Bayelsa Governorship election in court

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, on Monday said he would challenge the result of the election in court.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had on Sunday declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, and incumbent governor of the state, Seriake Dickson, winner of the election.

APC chieftain opposes Nwobodo’s defection from PDP

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu state, Osita Okechukwu, on Monday expressed dismay at last weekend’s defection of the former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Okechukwu in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu insisted that before joining the now ruling party, Nwobodo should first clear himself of the allegation that he benefited from the Dasuki arms deal money, noting dumping his party midway amounted to “running away from justice”.

“Rate of defection from PDP to APC is shameful” – Abike Dabiri-Erewa

Former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on the Diaspora, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Monday, frowned at the continued gale of defections of politicians from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to her party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dabiri-Erewa who expressed her disgust over the gale of defections, described it as shameful, calling the defectors “political prostitutes.”

EFCC opens up on why APC chieftain, Jafaru Isa was released and PDP’s Olisa Metuh is still in detention

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has denied claims it was on a witchhunt of leaders of the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party after its continued detention of Olisa Metuh and release of Jafaru Isa, an All Progressives Congress chieftain.

Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman of the EFCC, told journalists Monday that while Mr. Isa had begun the process of refunding the money in his possession, Mr. Metuh had refused to do same.

APC Chieftain, Jafaru Isa returns N100m of the N170m received from ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki

A former military governor of Kaduna State and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Jafaru Isa, has refunded N100million of the N170 million he allegedly received from embattled ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki.

Mr. Isa, a retired brigadier-general, was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, at his Asokoro residence in Abuja.

“APC is not fighting corruption; …only after opposition leaders” – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has decried the continued detention of its spokesman, Olisah Metuh by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), noting that, the ruling party, All Progressives Congress was after opposition leaders.

This was contained in a statement signed by the PDP National Legal Adviser, Mr Victor Kwon in Abuja on Sunday.

The statement decried the release of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), retired Brig.-Gen. Jafaru Isa, eight hours after he was arrested by the EFCC.

Jim Nwobodo dumps PDP for APC

A former governor of the old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, who admitted receiving N100million from former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, on Friday dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressive Congress.

He defected to the APC in Enugu alongside a former senator, Fidelis Okoro, representing Enugu North, and another chieftain of PDP, Richard Ozobu.

PDP’s Uche Ekwunife defects to APC ahead of Anambra Central Senatorial re-run

Senator Uche Ekwunife, the erstwhile senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, announced on Friday that she had defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ekwunife, who was inaugurated as senator in June, 2015, had her election nullified by Appeal Court in Enugu on December 6, 2015, on grounds of irregularities.
