Former speaker of Ondo state House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant, Victor Olabintan, has been reportedly kidnapped in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The 58 year-old politician was reportedly kidnapped Sunday night.

According to Gboyega Ajayi, Secretary of the Olabintan Campaign Organization he was kidnapped on his way to Abuja from Akure, the capital of Ondo.

Bureau De Change operator arraigned over possession of fake dollars

A 28-year-old Bureau De Change operator, Musa Bukar, who allegedly stole and presented fake 5,000 dollars to a customer, was on Tuesday arraigned at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

Mr. Bukar, whose address was not given, faced a two-count charge of stealing and unlawful possession of fake money.

26-year-old man arrested for luring and raping 24-year-old ‘Facebook lover’

A 26-year-old man, Taiwo Oluwatobi, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly luring his Facebook lover to his house, and raping her.

It wa learnt that Oluwatobi had met the 24-year-old victim, identified only as Temitope, on Facebook. He had allegedly lured her to his house in the Alagomeji, Yaba area of the state to collect N15,000, during which he raped her.

28-year-old trader kills friend over N5,000 electricity bill

A 28-year-old trader, Chukwuebuka Okeke, has allegedly killed his friend and roommate, Nwabuike Ezeike, 39, after a disagreement over a N5, 000 electricity bill.

The incident happened on Tuesday on Tokosi Street, Orile-Iganmu. It was gathered that the friends, who were traders on the Lagos Island, had been together for a long time.

9 foreign oil thieves setenced to 5-years imprisonment

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday convicted nine foreign citizens for stealing 3,423.097 metric tons of crude oil from Nigeria.

Among the convicts were five Filipinos and four Bangladeshes.

They had been intercepted by the Nigerian Navy on March 27, 2015, while trying to export the stolen product loaded in their vessel, MT Asteris, out of the country.

Internet fraudster sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for duping foreigner

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday secured the conviction of an ​i​nternet fraudster, Egbeniyi Oluwafemi (aka Raymond Morrison, Mavis Mar and Markus Fred), for defrauding a foreigner.

He was sentenced to two years imprisonment by Justice A.M Liman of the Federal High Court, Benin, Edo State.

Harrison Agu, a 35-year-old man, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Lagos State, for allegedly defiling his six-year-old daughter and infecting her with a sexually transmitted disease in the process.

Agu, a father of three who resides with his family at Isheri Osun, Lagos, was charged with indecent treatment of a minor, an offence that carries a seven-year imprisonment if found guilty.

Police arrest masquerade and 20 others for violence, robbery and kidnapping in Kogi

The Kogi State command of the Nigeria Police, on Tuesday, paraded 21 suspected criminal including kidnappers, armed robbers and a masquerade that have been terrorising the people of the state in recent time.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Williams Aya, who paraded the suspects at headquarters of the command in Lokoja, the state capital, alleged that one of the suspects in the guise of celebrating masquerade festival stabbed one Ishak Yusuf to death.
