Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai on Wednesday announced the dissolution of the interim management committees of the 23 local government councils in the state.

The dissolution which was announced in a government statement signed by the Special Assistant Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan, explained that the decision was based on the expiration of their six-month term of office.

The Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has appealed for calm and peace following the clash between soldiers and an Islamic group in Zaria.

The clash between soldiers and members of the Shiite Muslim group left at least three persons dead on Saturday, December 12.

Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai cancels Ramadan welfare package

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, on Friday cancelled the annual Ramadan “welfare” package distributed to Muslims in the state.

Past administrations distributed rice, millet, vegetable oil, milk, sugar and other commodities to Muslims; and also hosted religious groups to Ramadan breakfast.

Governor El-Rufai said his government could not continue sharing state resources.

Gov. El-Rufai begs Kaduna lawmakers to cut salaries and allowances

Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has begged members of the House of Assembly to review their salaries and allowances downward in order to generate more revenue for the development of the state.

“The Deputy Governor and I have signalled our intention in this regard by announcing that we are taking a pay cut of 50 per cent of our salary and allowances until the fiscal situation of the state improves,” El-Rufa’i said, yesterday, when he paid a visit to the House of Assembly.

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has reduced the number of the State Commissioners to 13, as against the 24 that were appointed by the previous government.

In his effort to cut the cost of running government, the Governor said he would also place strict limits on the number of aides that the 13 commissioners could recruit to support their official functions in Kaduna State, North-west Nigeria.

In an attempt to cut down the cost of governance in the country, the Kaduna State Government has concluded plans to merge some of the state ministries, and also cut down the number of Commissioners into the State Executive Council, as well as reduce the number of other political appointees on its payroll.

The State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, disclosed this while receiving the leadership of the Northern Christian Elders Forum at the Government House Kaduna.

Governor-elect, Nasir El-Rufai promise to revive textile factories in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Governor-elect, Nasir El-Rufai, has given an assurance that the incoming All Progressives Congress (APC) government is determined to revive all the collapsed textile factories in the state and other parts of the country as soon as it takes over power on May 29, 2015.

El-Rufai made the promise during his familiarization tour of some textile factories in Kaduna State.

During the tour, he lamented over what he described as the sorry state of infrastructure at the textile industries in Kaduna State, which he said had led to loss of jobs and revenue for the government.
